On the doorstep...
I went door-knocking with some Conservative councillors and local activists in Westminster and got a feel about what people are thinking ahead of the local elections in May.
The Tories certainly face an uphill struggle, but given just how negative most media coverage of the party has been, especially in London, I must say I was pleasantly surprised. People want more bang for their buck and recognise that if they want lower taxes and better services, the Conservatives will be a far better bet than Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour on May 3rd.
It’s been a while since I got so involved with door-to-door campaigning for a political party, but I must say the thought of a flood of Momentum-backing councillors taking power across wide parts of our capital city gives me the heebie-jeebies.
